THE GUILD IN THE GRANARY

The Guild in the Granary, by Alma Lynn Thompson, McDiggs PublishingCome and meet the Guild in the Granary. The Guild meets at Always in Stitches Quilt Shop owned by Caroline Clarkson in Buckeye Grove, Ohio. Caroline was an avid quilter and when her life takes a dramatic turn while working in security at a local bank, she grew from that experience and opened a quilt shop. To Caroline, this was like having a party every day where she could do something she loved and share her passion with friends yet to be made. Caroline's family, her husband Charles and two daughters Jamie and Budd, support her in every way they can while adding challenges of their own.

Olyria Brown, one of Caroline's long time friends and fellow quilter, is Caroline's confidant. Olyria has an inner strength as a result of being raised by a single parent. Olyria never knew her father as he was killed in Viet Nam. Her mother taught her that a woman could anything if she had a mind to.

Annie Wilkins was a retired schoolteacher who remained a spinster until Walter Wilkins swept her off her feet on a cruise and was married before they docked. Annie has been married for 2 years and finding that marriage is not a bed of roses. Walter is secretive and has a dark side. Olyria and other members help Annie as she faces the challenges that lay ahead.

Now that you have met just a few of the Guild members, let's explore the Granary. The Granary was the old farmers' exchange in Buckeye Grove that had sat vacant for years. Berchtwald Schultz, a.k.a. 'Schultz', then purchased and renovated the building and divided it into separate business spaces. Always in Stitches was the largest tenant and then there was an authentic English tea room, a yoga studio, an artist studio, a beauty shop and Olyria's manicure studio and palm reading room. Step into Always in Stitches and join the journey the Guild members and Granary tenants take us on as they travel down their bumpy paths of life.
